AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND 1950
IV British Empire Games
CEREMONAL/FEDERATION FLAG
The earliest photograph taken of this flag was at the Auckland Games.
With the host cities embazoned on this flag, it is surmised that this flag
was used at the earlier Games, though no evidence has surfaced that it
was used at the Inaugural Games in 1930.
HOST NATION'S FLAG
EMPIRE FLAG
The Union Jack was carried at the front of the procession of nations
and the oath of amateurism was taken upon this same flag
1950 GAMES LOGO
The Winged Foot 'logo' was widely used on posters
and events booklets during the Games,
as well as on the post-Games book, but did not
appear on any flags, medals, or on the victory podium.
Still, the fact that it was used widely on 1950
Games literature makes this emblem a representative logo.
