AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND 1990
XIV Commonwealth Games

CEREMONIAL FLAG
(Adopted 1974 after name change from BCG to CG was made)

HOST NATION'S FLAG

GAMES FEDERATION SEAL &
FLAG
Flown from the top right hand side of the main grandstand at the main stadium.

This Logo was originally intended as a marketing logo, but was adopted by the
Games Organizing Committee when the original idea of a competition to design
the Games Logo was dropped because of insufficient time.

This flag flanked the Royal Standard on each side of the top center of the roof
of the main grandstand at the main stadium.

This flag (the flag of the then-called New Zealand Olympic and Commonwealth
Games Association) flew from the top left hand side of the main stadium to
represent the host Games Association (It was also used by the NZ Team at the
Opening Ceremony of the Games of the XXII Olympiad in Moscow, USSR as the NZ
Govt. banned the use of the National Flag at those Games).
